Yurii Romanchuk has served as Counsellor at the Ukrainian Embassy in Copenhagen since July 2020. He acts as the Deputy Head of Mission and engages with the governmental and parliamentary authorities of the Kingdom of Denmark.
Prior to that, he worked at the Ukrainian Embassies in London (2001-2004), Warsaw (2008-2010) and Washington (2010-2012) where he dealt with political, economic, legal issues, as well as with issues of interregional cooperation.
At the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine, Yurii Romanchuk worked in the Press Service, the Department of NATO and the Territorial Department, that coordinates cooperation with European countries. In 2005-2006, he headed the Office of the First Deputy Foreign Minister responsible for Euro-Atlantic integration.
Before his posting to Copenhagen, he headed the Western Europe Unit of the First European Department and coordinated bilateral relations with six European countries.
Yurii Romanchuk is a career diplomat. He graduated with honours from the Institute of International Relations of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and holds a PhD in Political Science on political problems of international relations and global development. Fluent in English, German and Polish. He is married and has a son.
