Against the background of concentration of Russia’s troops around Ukraine’s borders and the threat of a Russian military invasion, the Ukrainian Ambassador was invited to the studio of the Danish TV company “TV 2 Danmark A/S” where he outlined the Ukrainian government’s perspective of further developments.

During the interview, the Danish side was interested in the current situation on the Ukrainian-Russian border, the aim of Russian aggression and Ukraine’s preparedness to confront, ways to resolve the Ukrainian-Russian conflict, including with the involvement of Western partners, and prospects for Ukraine’s NATO membership.

Ambassador Mykhailo Vydoinyk expressed gratitude to the Danish government, acting through Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod, for supporting Ukraine. In particular, the Danish side called on Russia to de-escalate and reduce tensions and stated that if Russia violates Ukraine’s territorial integrity again, it will have serious consequences.

The Head of the Ukrainian diplomatic mission also stressed that Ukraine does not plan any military offensive in Donbass and is committed to seeking diplomatic solution to the conflict. He outlined the components of a broad package designed to deter Russia which Ukraine has offered to Western allies and partners that was discussed in particular during the NATO ministerial meeting in Riga and the OSCE ministerial in Stockholm.
