Export and Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO) is Denmark’s export credit agency that can provide financing on commercial and semi-commercial terms for exports and investments in Ukraine for the purpose of restoring critical infrastructure, developing the private sector and the economy of Ukraine.
EIFO’s financial solutions operate in the form of a credit guarantee scheme supported by the Government of Denmark. Thus, EIFO provides financing for export purchases in Denmark by Ukrainian private companies and state institutions on attractive terms, covers the relevant project costs and reduces financial risks for Danish companies investing in Ukraine. The Danish government has allocated EUR 550 million for EIFO’s project activities in Ukraine following the full-scale Russian invasion.
The war in Ukraine has led to a widespread need for reconstruction. Consequently, Ukraine has requested solutions from Danish companies for use in reconstruction, as well as a broader rebuilding of commercial ties between Danish and Ukrainian businesses to strengthen Ukraine's economy and business sector. In response, as part of the Danish Ukraine Fund, EIFO's Ukraine Facility was established in March 2023, which is a loan and guarantee scheme with a capacity of DKK 1 billion. The facility enables the provision of long-term loans and guarantees for Danish export to and investments in Ukraine.
In December 2024, EIFO announced an additional EUR 65 million for support programs in 2025.
