Denmark demonstrates consistent and comprehensive support for Ukraine in overcoming the consequences of Russian aggression. As of December 23, 2025, the total amount of civilian aid provided stands at 959 million euros.
Danish support covers a wide range of areas: from infrastructure reconstruction and humanitarian aid to macrofinancial support and social integration of Ukrainians.
The country actively assists in restoring destroyed territories, ensuring energy security, and supporting the population. Denmark became the first donor to the Energy Support Fund for Ukraine, making a significant contribution to stabilizing the energy sector.
Denmark has taken a leading role in rebuilding the city of Mykolaiv and Mykolaiv Oblast. A partnership memorandum was concluded, a coordination committee established, and a master plan for the city's reconstruction developed.
In September 2025, the largest Danish national program Ukraine Transition Programme worth 375 million euros for 2025-2028 was launched, consolidating efforts in reconstruction, reforms, and EU integration with a focus on Mykolaiv Oblast.
Denmark also supports the social integration of Ukrainians. The country's parliament adopted a law allowing Ukrainian displaced persons to obtain temporary residence. As of February 2026, approximately 60,000 Ukrainians reside in Denmark.
Important support initiatives include the opening of the Ukrainian House in Denmark, the European-Ukrainian Hub in Copenhagen, and provision of medical assistance, including treatment for wounded Ukrainians.
Denmark's support goes far beyond traditional humanitarian aid – it is a consistent, comprehensive strategy of solidarity with Ukraine in its struggle for freedom and independence.
