Denmark demonstrates consistent and comprehensive support for Ukraine in overcoming the consequences of Russian aggression. As of December 2024, the total amount of civilian assistance provided stands at 709 million euros.
Danish support covers a wide range of areas: from infrastructure reconstruction and humanitarian aid to macrofinancial support and social integration of Ukrainians.
The country actively helps in restoring destroyed territories, ensuring energy security, and supporting the population. Denmark became the first donor to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, making a significant contribution to stabilizing the energy sector.
Denmark took a leading role in the reconstruction of the city of Mykolaiv and Mykolaiv Oblast. A memorandum of partnership was signed, a coordination committee was created, and a master reconstruction plan was developed.
Denmark also supports the social integration of Ukrainians. The country's parliament passed a law allowing Ukrainian displaced persons to receive temporary residence. As of December 2024, approximately 60,000 Ukrainians are in Denmark.
Key areas of support included opening the Ukrainian House in Denmark, the European-Ukrainian Hub in Copenhagen, and providing medical assistance, including treatment for wounded Ukrainian soldiers.
Denmark's support goes far beyond traditional humanitarian aid – it is a consistent, comprehensive strategy of solidarity with Ukraine in its struggle for freedom and independence.
