Depending on the purpose of the trip to Ukraine, visas are divided into short-term, long-term and transit types.
Transit visa (B) is issued to foreigners in the case of transit through the territory of Ukraine to a third country, as well as transit of goods and passengers by road. Transit visa is issued as a single, double and multiple entry visa for the period specified in the documents but not more than for 1 year. However, the period of stay on the territory of Ukraine during each transit journey should not exceed 5 days.
Short-term visa (C) is issued to foreigners to enter Ukraine, if the period of their stay in Ukraine does not exceed 90 days within 180 days. Short-term visa is issued as a single, double or multiple entry visa, usually valid for 6 months but not more than for 5 years.
Long-term visa (D) is issued to foreigners to enter Ukraine when a foreigner intends to apply for a temporary residence permit to stay in Ukraine for more than 90 days, for example for employment, work in representations of foreign entities in Ukraine, teaching, cultural, scientific, educational activities, etc. Long-term visa is issued as a multiple-entry visa valid for 90 days.
If a foreigner, including a Danish citizen, intends to stay in Ukraine for more than 90 days, he or she must obtain a long-term visa (D).
