On the 243rd day of the war, on 24 October 2022, Ambassador of Ukraine to Denmark Mykhailo Vydoinyk, together with the local authorities of Birkerød (Rudersdal municipality) and the Ukrainian community, joined the “It′s Not Over” initiative.
The mentioned action of cultural solidarity with Ukraine was initiated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in cooperation with the consulting group “One Philosophy” and the “WeAreUkraine.info” portal.
Since Russia′s war has devastating consequences for the cultural heritage of Ukraine, the action aims to call on the cities of the world to support Ukraine and Ukrainian culture and show solidarity by closing iconic cultural monuments, as it is happening in Kyiv, Odesa, Lviv and other cities of Ukraine in order to save them from the missile attacks of the Russian occupiers.
On this day, the monument to the Danish bishop Henrik Thomsen Gerner, who fought for the independence of Denmark, was symbolically wrapped in the colours of the State Flag of Ukraine. Within a month, it will be a sign of solidarity of the Danish people with Ukrainians.
