On 19 May 2023, as part of an official visit to the Kingdom of Denmark, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk met with Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark.

This is reported by the Administration of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

First of all, the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine thanked Denmark for its constant and reliable support to Ukraine.

“Queen Margrethe II of Denmark has repeatedly expressed support for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people,” he noted adding that during the meeting he heard wishes for a speedy end to this war and sincere greetings to brave Ukrainian men and women.

“We talked a lot about the history that connects our countries. But even more about the future, in particular, about the reconstruction of Ukraine,” said Ruslan Stefanchuk.

In addition, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine emphasized that Denmark is one of the leaders in terms of financial assistance to Ukraine: “It is extremely important that the recently created Ukraine Fund provides financing both for the reconstruction of Ukraine and for attracting Danish companies to the reconstruction of Ukrainian cities.”

In conclusion, he said that Denmark was one of the first to support the initiative of the so-called patronage over the reconstruction of destroyed cities. To date, such a partnership has already been established with Mykolaiv.
