Freedom is a fundamental characteristic of human existence. It's an opportunity of free choice and realization of responsibility for that choice.

Every year on 20 February, we celebrate the Day of Heroes of Heavenly Hundred. In 2014, this day became not just a tragic date in the life of Ukrainians, but finally confirmed our willingness not to live the old way.

The Heroes of Heavenly Hundred have become example to be followed through their clear civic position and their readiness to fight at the cost of their own lives. Their contribution to the formation of a European democratic Ukraine is invaluable.

Their memory should not only be kept in annual commemorative events, but also be alive, encourage society to think, to act, to realize that the future of our country depends only on us, on our own choice and our freedom.

Pay tribute to the feat of the Heavenly Hundred and always honour our Heroes with the words ­“Thank you for our freedom!”
