Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva held a video-meeting with the Permanent Under-Secretary of State at the Office of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Denmark Jean-Charles Ellermann-Kingombe.
The diplomatic adviser to the Head of the Ukrainian State informed his Danish counterpart about the aggravation of the security situation on the Russian-Ukrainian border and in the occupied territories of Ukraine.
For his part, Jean-Charles Ellermann-Kingombe expressed condolences in connection with the death of Ukrainian soldiers in the east of Ukraine and assured of Denmark’s support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. He also noted the wise and balanced approach of Ukraine in response to the provocations of the Russian Federation.
In addition, they talked about the situation with the coronavirus pandemic and the steps taken by the governments of both states to counter its spread. In this context, they agreed on further cooperation to guarantee vaccination of citizens.
The interlocutors also discussed the interaction between Ukraine and Denmark in the field of European integration of Ukraine. In this regard, they paid considerable attention to the reforms in Ukraine, in particular to fighting corruption.
Ihor Zhovkva informed the Danish side in detail about the initiative of the Crimean Platform which aims to return the issue of Crimea to the international agenda. He expressed the hope that Denmark will be represented at the highest possible level at the inaugural Summit of the Crimean Platform in August.
