On 18 December 2021, a working visit to Ukraine of the delegation of the Ministry of Defence of the Kingdom of Denmark headed by the Defence Minister Trine Bramsen has begun.
In the Hall of Remembrance of the Defenders of Ukraine, the foreign delegation honoured Ukrainian soldiers who fought for the freedom and independence of our state at the cost of their own lives. Olexii Reznikov and Trine Bramsen laid flowers at the Stella and the Bell of Remembrance.
During the talks between the delegations of the Defence Ministries of Ukraine and Denmark, Oleksii Reznikov informed Trine Bramsen about the security situation in Ukraine and around its borders. They also discussed the situation in neighbouring countries, including in the context of creation of an artificial migration crisis by Russia on the Polish-Belarusian border.
For her part, Trine Bramsen reaffirmed the unwavering support of Denmark to Ukraine in defending its sovereignty, restoring territorial integrity within internationally recognized borders, and realizing the European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations of Ukraine. The Danish side assured of further assistance to Ukraine in carrying out reforms to increase the defence capability, interoperability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the armies of Partner countries in accordance with NATO principles and standards.
The parties discussed priorities of bilateral defence cooperation, which are important for the development of the armed forces of both countries in such areas as cyber defence, joint participation in military exercises, professional training and training of troops, as well as experience in implementing NATO standards in the armed forces.
The Minister of Defence of Ukraine noted the efforts of Danish advisers, staff officers and military instructors working in Ukraine. According to him, “Their spheres of activity are different but the goal is the same – to promote the successful implementation of NATO standards and procedures in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”
In addition, Oleksii Reznikov stressed that the visit of the Danish partners is a powerful signal to the whole world that the Kingdom of Denmark stands on the side of Ukraine and supports our territorial integrity and our sovereignty.
