On the 30th day of the war, on 25 March 2022, several prominent Danish musicians gave a concert in support of their colleagues in war-torn Ukraine.
Gustav Piekut (piano), Bjarke Mogensen (accordion), the Petri/Hannibal duet (recorder and guitar), and the Danish String Quartet took part in the charity event at the Musikhuset København.
The concert program included works by Ludwig van Beethoven, Johannes Brahms, John Dowland, Domenico Scarlatti, Frederic Chopin, as well as Ukrainian composers Galina Grigorjeva, Myroslav Skoryk and Ihor Shamo.
The organizers of the concert are pianist of Ukrainian origin Elisabeth Holmegaard Nielsen and artistic director of the Danish chamber ensemble “Athelas Sinfonietta Copenhagen” Jesper Lützhøft. According to Elizabeth Nielsen, “I have not met a single Ukrainian who does not believe in our victory. We preserve a free democratic country and the Ukrainian culture.”
As part of the event, an account was created for financial support of Ukrainian art and culture: 0111-9029100001 (CVR: 37158097).
