Minister for Development Cooperation and Global Climate Policy of Denmark Dan Jørgensen visited Mykolaiv

On the 324th day of the war, on 13 January 2023, a Danish delegation led by the Minister for Development Cooperation and Global Climate Policy arrived in Mykolaiv on an official visit to discuss bilateral cooperation and post-war rebuilding of Ukraine and the Mykolaiv region, in particular.

This is reported by the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration.

During the visit, the Minister met with Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine — Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov, Head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Vitalii Kim, Mykolaiv City Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych, Head of the Mykolaiv Regional Council Hanna Zamazieieva and business representatives of the Mykolaiv region

The parties discussed the priority tasks for restoring the economic potential and rebuilding the infrastructure of the Mykolaiv region.

Oleksandr Kubrakov noted that the restoration of the Mykolaiv region is very important, especially after the de-occupation of Kherson.

“I would like to thank our friends and partners for the support they provided for the region. I understand that it is necessary for the port to work. We are working on it. And not only us, but also partners. I believe that this year we will do the most critical things necessary for the normal life of people,” he said.

For his part, Vitalii Kim also thanked the Danish partners for their attention to Mykolaiv region.

“Mykolaiv region really needs help for recovery. In addition, it is important to establish interaction and communication between business circles in Denmark and our region, in order to restore business and the economy. For our part, we will ensure a transparent mechanism for cooperation in all areas,” said Vitalii Kim.

Danish Minister Dan Jørgensen assured that the new Danish government will continue its unwavering support for Ukraine.

“Together with international partners, Denmark is doing everything possible to rebuild your city. Both now and in the future. Right now, we are focused on the most urgent needs. With my visit, I want to confirm readiness to further strengthen our partnership,” he emphasized.

During the meeting, business representatives from the Mykolaiv region had the opportunity to discuss possible areas of cooperation with Danish partners. In particular, representatives there were presentations by JV “Nibulon” LLC and agricultural holding “Agrofusion”.

After the working meeting, the delegation got acquainted with the work of the water purification stations, handed over by the Danish Refugee Council, and the humanitarian headquarters organized by the representatives of the Danish Red Cross and the Ukrainian Red Cross Society.

At the end of the visit, Vitalii Kim handed over to the guests a Ukrainian flag signed by the soldiers of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who liberated Kherson from the Russian occupiers and assured that Mykolaiv region is ready for fruitful cooperation.
