Deputy Defence Minister of Ukraine met the Danish parliamentarians

Deputy Minister for Defence of Ukraine for European Integration Andrii Shevchenko met with a Danish delegation of Members of the Folketing headed by the Head of the Foreign Policy Council Michael Aastrup Jensen. They discussed the issues of strengthening the defence capacity of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This is reported by the Ministry of Defence Ukraine.

Andrii Shevchenko thanked Danish parliamentarians, the Government and the People of Denmark for the establishment of the Ukraine Fund in the amount of 7 billion Danish kroner to provide military, humanitarian and economic assistance to Ukraine. He thanked in particular to Denmark for joining the initiative of European countries to supply Ukraine with 1 million artillery ammunition.

“Denmark’s contribution to the common goal of defeating the enemy is extremely valuable for Ukraine. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the Danish people have been providing comprehensive assistance to Ukraine and the Armed Forces. We are determined to further fruitful cooperation in the defence area between our countries. The Vilnius NATO summit is coming soon, so Ukraine expects clear and strong security guarantees. We hope that Denmark will support our country’s efforts on the way to membership in the EU and NATO,” Andrii Shevchenko said.

The foreign guests were informed about the situation on the fronts of the Russian-Ukrainian war, in particular, regarding current hostilities in the Donetsk direction and threats from Belarus.

Michael Aastrup Jensen expressed admiration for the struggle of the Ukrainian people in the war against Russia and assured of further support for Ukraine on the way to victory.

“The whole world admires the bravery of Ukrainian soldiers, their courage, strength of resistance and determination to defend their country. You are fighting not only for your freedom, but also for the freedom of the whole of Europe. Denmark will continue to help and will stand side by side with your people to victory,” Michael Aastrup Jensen emphasized.
