On 10 April 2021, an action is being implemented within the framework of the global ecological project “Greening of the Planet”. 1 million trees will be planted in 1 day in 100 countries of the world.

The mission of the project is to plant 100 million trees all over the planet for the next three years and change the ecological consciousness of people around the world in order to cultivate a respect for nature and to restore the ecosystem of the Earth.

In Ukraine, this project was initiated by the business clubs “CEO Club Ukraine” and “Business Woman Club”. The action is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, as well as by the State Agency for Forest Resources of Ukraine.

The initiative was actively supported by foreign diplomatic missions of our state. The Ukrainian Embassy in Copenhagen also made its modest contribution to this noble impulse – it has planted a cherry near the walls of the mission.

Cherry is one of the oldest trees in Ukraine. For the Ukrainians, it is a symbol of mutual love, beauty, and courage. Shevchenko’s “cherry orchard near the house” has become a symbol of our country and a familiar close image.
