Assistance to the city of Mykolaiv and the Mykolaiv region will be provided through the mechanism of a specially developed Country-City-Region partnership. The objectives of this partnership are aimed at the speedy recovery of the city of Mykolaiv and the region after the Russian aggression and their post-war transformation.
The corresponding memorandum on the establishment of a partnership between Denmark, Mykolaiv and the Mykolaiv region was concluded on 7 March 2023. It provides that Danish-Ukrainian cooperation will focus on eight areas: infrastructure, good governance, maritime sector, transportation, urban planning, SME development, green transition, youth and culture.
In order to coordinate the relevant activities and maximize the efforts and capacities of two parties, a Steering Committee was created which is headed by the Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine on the Ukrainian side, and the Minister for Development Cooperation and Global Climate Policy on the Danish side.
