On 23 April 2021 Ambassador Mykhailo Vydoinyk received Uffe Ellemann-Jensen who is co-founder and honorary chairman of the “Baltic Development Forum” think tank, and before he served as Chairman of the Danish Foreign Policy Society (1993-2012), Chairman of the Danish Centre for International Research and Human Rights (2004-2008), as well as Minister for Foreign Affairs of Denmark (1982-1993).
During the meeting, they addressed a wide range of issues of Ukrainian-Danish interaction in the political arena, primarily related to realizing Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations.
Ambassador Mykhailo Vydoinyk has presented the Crimean Platform consultative and coordinating format. He invited Uffe Ellemann-Jensen to join the Crimean Platform activities as an expert on foreign and security policy.
The Ambassador also informed the interlocutor about the development of the internal situation in Ukraine, in particular in the context of the aggravation of the security situation on the Russian-Ukrainian border and in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, as well as taking into account Russia’s attempts to restrict the passage of Ukrainian and foreign ships through the Kerch Strait.
