On 10 February 2023, Ambassador of Ukraine to Denmark Mykhailo Vydoinyk met with the leadership of the Local Government (KL) association which unites 98 municipal councils of Denmark.
During the conversation, the head of the Ukrainian diplomatic institution informed his interlocutors about the current state of the struggle of the Ukrainian people against the Russian invaders, shared his views on possible areas of cooperation between Ukrainian cities and Danish municipalities, and also talked about the most important aspects of the reconstruction of Ukraine and the involvement of Denmark in this process.
The Danish side invited the Ambassador and Mayor of the Ukrainian capital Vitali Klitschko to take part in the annual Municipal Political Conference, which will be held on 16-17 March 2023. The conference will focus on the challenges Europe will face in the coming years, especially in light of the Russian-Ukrainian war. One of the main objectives of this event is to encourage its participants to continue helping the Ukrainian people and to ensure constant attention to the struggle of Ukrainians for their independence and the right to choose.
Mykhailo Vydoinyk thanked the Danish municipalities for accepting more than 35,000 Ukrainian displaced persons, helping them with resettlement, work, kindergartens, schools, and also continuing to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
