On 9 February 2023, Ambassador of Ukraine to Denmark Mykhailo Vydoinyk held a meeting with the rector of the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) Anders Overgaard Bjarklev, and also visited the innovation hub at the university “Skylab”.
During the visit, they discussed ways to develop sustainable ties in the field of technology and innovation through bilateral partnerships and projects between the student, academic and research circles of the two countries. Among other things, they talked about the prospects for the participation of Danish expert circles in the development of a master plan for the reconstruction of Mykolaiv, primarily in those areas where Denmark occupies a leading position in the world.
The management of DTU expressed interest in establishing cooperation with one of the Ukrainian higher educational institutions, as well as their willingness to share practical experience in creating and developing innovative startup laboratories.
A separate element of the visit was to explore the research centre “Skylab” at the DTU which is an interdisciplinary learning environment for students, researchers and corporate partners that offers preferential financing for business development and scaling, creation of prototypes of technological solutions in various sectors of the economy, and promotion of technological startups.
The Ambassador got acquainted with representatives of some technological startups actively developing at the DTU, in particular “YAKrescue” which has developed a small portable vehicle for the rapid evacuation of patients, as well as “Aerial Tools” which has a patented aerial video surveillance technology using new generation drones.
