On the 41st day of the war, on 5 April 2022, the Ukrainian Ambassador met with the head of the Danish education department.
During the conversation, the interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues related to the provision of educational services for young Ukrainians who were forced to leave Ukraine fleeing the war.
The Danish Minister promised to consider the possibility of filling vacancies at Danish universities with Ukrainian students, reducing fees for Ukrainians for studying and living in university dormitories, recognizing Ukrainian certificates of complete general secondary education, including those issued in electronic form, the possibility of submitting documents for Ukrainians to Danish universities after the deadlines set by the Danish side, as well as establishing cooperation between the universities of Ukraine and Denmark, in particular as to student and teacher exchange, and the possibility of teaching a Ukrainian language at Danish universities.
Jesper Petersen also expressed the interest of the Danish side in involving Ukrainian scientists in the educational process at Danish universities and establishing research programs between the universities of the two countries.
While discussing the current situation in Ukraine, Ambassador Vydoinyk thanked the Minister for his call to Danish universities to stop any scientific cooperation with Russian universities in protest against the war started by Russia.
