On the 344th day of the war, on 2 February 2023, Ambassador of Ukraine to Denmark Mykhailo Vydoinyk met with Speaker of the Folketing Søren Gade.
The head of the Ukrainian diplomatic mission described the situation at the front and discussed the priority needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to repel the Russian counteroffensive, as well as long-term needs of Ukraine in humanitarian demining, prosthetics and psychological rehabilitation of the military.
The head of the Danish Parliament assured that Denmark will continue to provide all possible support to Ukraine. In this context, they discussed a possible visit of Danish parliamentarians to Ukraine and the creation of a “friendship group” between interested Members of the Folketing and Members of the Verkhovna Rada from the Mykolaiv region, which Denmark took patronage to rebuild.
The Ukrainian Ambassador called on the Folketing to adopt a resolution recognizing Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism, and the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine as a genocide of the Ukrainian people.
