Ventilators donated by Denmark have already been installed in 26 Ukrainian hospitals
05 March 2021 14:01

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) Country Office in Ukraine, 26 hospitals in 19 regions of Ukraine have already received ventilators, which were donated by Denmark to Ukraine in December last year.

These pulmonary ventilators increase the chances of intensive care units to successfully treat patients with severe or critical Covid-19 conditions, when patients’ self-breathing is insufficient and blood oxygen saturation falls.

WHO provided technical support for the installation of the equipment, an extended warranty for their maintenance for 18 months, and assisted with the organization of training for health professionals.

WHO Representative in Ukraine Jarno Habicht commented that he was very pleased that this important equipment is available in Ukrainian specialized hospitals for the treatment of Covid-19 patients, as a result of the partnership with the Embassy of Denmark in Ukraine.
