On 26 January 2021, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Denmark Mykhailo Vydoinyk held an online meeting with the director of the Ukrainian-Danish Youth House, which was established through the joint work of the Danish Cultural Institute, the Danish Youth Council and the Danish Foreign Ministry, which allocated 18 million Danish kroner (EUR 2.4 million) for this project.

Chief Executive Officer of the Danish Cultural Institute Camilla Mordhorst also attended this meeting.

The main future activities of the Ukrainian-Danish Youth House will be cultural cooperation between Ukraine and Denmark, strengthening the participation of Ukrainian youth in democratic processes and establishing a youth partnership.

“The Ukrainian-Danish Youth House is a project with great potential for strengthening dialogue and mutual relations”, said Ms. Bojesen who will be its head from 15 February, 2021.

For her part, Camilla Mordhorst stressed that the newly created House is “a great task that will require from us entrepreneurial, diplomatic and, last but not least, leadership skills”.

The parties focused on the prospects of deepening cooperation between youth organizations of both countries, in particular on creation of a new and strong platform for youth exchanges.

They paid particular attention to the organization of youth festivals, workshops, concerts, film screenings, debates on topics relevant to young people, as well as the initiation of cooperation between the camps of scout organizations in Ukraine and Denmark.
