Ambassador of Ukraine and Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee of the Folketing discussed a number of political events planned to mark the 30th anniversary of the reestablishment of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Denmark in 2022, as well as within the parliamentary track of the Crimean Platform.
Ambassador Mykhailo Vydoinyk thanked the Danish side for Denmark’s position on non-recognition of the temporary occupation of Crimea and active support of relevant Ukrainian initiatives in international organizations, informed the Danish interlocutor about the situation in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, as well as about the prospects for a peaceful settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict in eastern Ukraine.
The parties exchanged views on the development of the situation on the Belarusian-Polish border and the prospects for resolving the migration crisis within Europe. The Danish parliamentarian, who served as Danish Minister for Refugee, Immigration and Integration Affairs in 2001-2005, gave an assessment of the European migration policy initiatives. The Ukrainian Ambassador, in turn, focused on relations with Belarus, which uses illegal migrants as a hybrid weapon in the interests of the Kremlin.
Ambassador Mykhailo Vydoinyk invited Bertel Haarder to pay a visit to Ukraine as a member of the parliamentary delegation.
