On the 118^th day of the war, on 21 June 2022, the Ambassador of Ukraine met with the head of Copenhagen city administration.

The Lord Mayor of Copenhagen supported the joint initiative of the Ukrainian community and the Ukrainian Embassy to create a Ukrainian House in the Danish capital and promised to provide the necessary assistance in the implementation of this project.

The Ukrainian House is intended to become a centre of community of Ukrainians where various cultural events will be held, as well as a platform for business contacts, conferences and presentations.

Sophie Hæstorp Andersen also promised to consider the establishment of sister city relations between Kyiv and Copenhagen.

Discussing the current situation in Ukraine, Ambassador Vydoinyk thanked the Lord Mayor of Copenhagen for the assistance that the city provides to internally displaced persons from Ukraine, and offered to use the experience of the Danish capital, in particular in the areas of electricity supply, centralized heating and waste recycling, to modernize the infrastructure of Ukrainian cities.

The Lord Mayor of Copenhagen also responded positively to the initiative of the Ukrainian side to give one of the streets (squares) of Copenhagen a name connected to Ukraine, and promised to provide all possible assistance in this matter.
