On 25 May 2022, Ambassador Mykhailo Vydoinyk together with Employment and Integration Mayor of Copenhagen Jens-Kristian Lütken visited the Centre for temporary internally displaced persons from Ukraine – the so-called “Welcome House” which is located in the in the Capital Region of Denmark.
The Ambassador talked to the Ukrainians and inspected the living conditions in the Centre. In particular, they discussed issues of access to free medical care, food, schooling for children, availability of places in kindergartens, job search opportunities, etc.
At the request of the residents of the Centre, the representative of the local authorities of Copenhagen confirmed their intention to consider continuing free travel in the capital′s public transport for Ukrainian migrants, as well as simplifying the admission of Ukrainian children to local kindergartens.
Also, during the meeting, they discussed the prospects for opening a Ukrainian cultural centre in Copenhagen.
