Ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Denmark Mykhailo Vydoinyk met the coordinators of the “East-SOS” public initiative Oleksandra Dvoretska and Yuliya Samokhvalova.

During a friendly conversation, the Ambassador and the public activists discussed topical issues faced by Ukrainian citizens in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, as well as the possibility of attracting Denmark’s assistance to counter Russian aggression.

The participants of the meeting paid special attention to the International Conference on the Conflict in the East of Ukraine which took place on 20 May 2021 in the Danish Folketing. Oleksandra Dvoretska and Yuliya Samokhvalova were invited to this conference as main co-rapporteurs. It was held with the aim of raising awareness about the nature of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and about possible ways to resolve it with assistance from the international community. The event is organized by the FN-forbundet and the Danish Helsinki Committee for Human Rights.

“East-SOS” (“Vostok-SOS”) is a public initiative to help victims of the conflict in the east of Ukraine. It was created in 2014 by activists from the Luhansk Human Rights Center “Postup”, the Crimean Human Rights Center “Diya” and the Civil Sector of the Luhansk EuroMaidan. Subsequently, the Charity Foundation “East-SOS” was registered which continues to support victims of the conflict and displaced persons and is committed to restoring the region suffered from the impact of military aggression.
