On 9 December, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Denmark Mykhailo Vydoinyk received Hans Kluge, Regional Director of the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Europe. The meeting took place on the eve of the visit of the Regional Director to Ukraine, scheduled for 14-16 December 2020.

Hans Kluge assured the Ukrainian side of WHO’s comprehensive support to Ukraine in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. He informed that during his visit to Kyiv he intends to raise the issue of vaccination of the population of Ukraine against Covid-19, strengthening the capacity of the health care system in Ukraine, introduction of training programs for Ukrainian health workers, and implementation of WHO European Program of Work.

The WHO’s High Representative has now confirmed his meetings with the Prime Minister of Ukraine and the Minister of Health of Ukraine.

The Ambassador of Ukraine stressed the importance of providing Ukrainian citizens with reliable information about vaccination and WHO’s efforts in this regard, as well as of use of European experience, which has proven its effectiveness, in introducing quarantine restrictions in Ukraine.
