On the 85th day of the war, on 19 May 2022, Ambassador of Ukraine met with the recently appointed Minister of Immigration and Integration of Denmark.
The interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues related to obtaining a temporary residence permit by Ukrainian citizens who were forced to leave Ukraine, fleeing from the war.
They also discussed the current situation in the immigration sphere, the issues that concern the stay of Ukrainian citizens in Denmark, including informing Ukrainians about the rules of stay in the country and immigration peculiarities in accordance with Danish legislation related to displaced persons from Ukraine.
The Danish Minister informed that it is planned shortly to reduce the time of consideration of applications of Ukrainian citizens in order to obtain a resident permit, which in turn will guarantee them a faster settlement among the municipalities and access to the social sphere and employment. The Immigration Service is also ready for closer communication and cooperation with local authorities in order to promptly resolve the possible problems that Ukrainians may have.
