On 30 October Ambassador of Ukraine to the Kingdom of Denmark Mykhailo Vydoinyk held an online meeting with Deputy Director General of the Danish Energy Agency Martin Hansen.
The parties discussed the results of the outcomes of the Ukraine-Denmark Energy Centre, as well as promising areas for further Ukrainian-Danish cooperation in the energy sphere.
Martin Hansen commended the Centre′s activities in creating a favourable environment for investment in sustainable energy in Ukraine, supporting renewable energy sources and ensuring sustainable energy supply, strategic energy planning at the local level, development and monitoring of the Energy Strategy of Ukraine until 2035, as well as capacity building in the field of district heating and addressing energy efficiency in buildings.
He announced further plans of the Centre, which envisage the continuation of its activity in Ukraine and the expansion of cooperation with the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine in the field of modernization of the central heating system in our country.
The Danish side has confirmed its interest in the implementation of renewable energy projects in medium-sized Ukrainian cities, to be credited under the Danida Sustainable Infrastructure Finance program.
Ambassador Mykhailo Vydoinyk suggested that the Danish side pay more attention to the introduction of heat and electricity production technologies in Ukraine in the process of waste disposal, of energy saving technologies in agriculture, as well as to providing guidance to our country in developing relevant regulations.
